After ending winning the districts last week, the lady Ishpeming Hematites tonight went to Marquette High School in the regional playing the St. Ignace Saints. They unfortunately couldn’t keep their playoff run and lost to a strong Saints team.
The Saints jumped out to an early using a full court press and a deep bench and were up 30-21 by the half. The Saints were able to build on that lead throughout the second half for the 62-40 win.
It was a good season for the Hematites this year after a rough start they were able to put together a good run from the second half onward for a record of 14-9. That, capped with a 29 year district drought ended, made it a special year for the lady Ishpeming Hematites.
